Decorative mailer boxes carry full artwork: patterns, illustrations, and color on every panel, often with foil. Brands use them for launches, seasonal editions and subscription boxes, where the packaging is part of what the customer pays for. Our designer sets up the artwork free. There are no die or plate charges, and a one-off seasonal run is fine.

How the Print Is Done

Full-color artwork isn't printed straight onto corrugated board, because the ridges would show through as faint stripes. We print it offset on a thin, smooth sheet first and then laminate that sheet onto E flute board. The result looks like a magazine page and still survives a courier van.

Artwork Across the Folds

Your design is placed on the dieline, which shows the lid, sides and inside flat on one page. That's where you'll see whether a pattern lines up across a fold or breaks at a corner. Moving things at this stage costs nothing. The inside of the lid can be printed too. It's the last thing a customer sees when they open the box, so a short line there earns its place.

Finishes

Most decorative boxes end up with matte lamination and a gold foil logo. Gloss makes colors look punchier. Soft-touch and spot UV are also available. Foil works best on bold shapes like a logo or a border, since very fine lines can fill in.

Color Proof

You'll get a printed proof before the run. Dark greens and navies often look slightly different on paper than on screen, so hold the proof next to your label or product before you approve it.

Timing for Seasonal Runs
