Custom 2 Piece Boxes in the UAE

2 piece boxes have a separate lid and base, the format behind most gift boxes, watch boxes, and corporate sets. We make them in two ways: rigid, built from greyboard and wrapped in paper, or folded from printed card for bigger runs. Design is free, and there's no charge for dies or plates. Give us the product size and any insert, and we'll set the inside of the base around it.

Rigid Construction

Two piece rigid boxes start as dense greyboard a couple of millimetres thick, roughly the color of wet cement. It's cut into a base and four walls, and the same again, slightly bigger, for the lid. The walls stand up around the base, and the corners are taped from outside, which gives a bare grey tray. Printed or textured paper is then glued on, pulled tight and folded over the top edge to the inside.

Lid Fit

The lid is cut a few millimetres wider than the base, and getting that gap right is most of the job. On the sample, put the product in, close it and lift the box by the lid. If the base drops out, it's loose. A good lid slides down slowly under its own weight, and sometimes it takes a second sample to get there.

Folded Card Option

For clothing, bigger quantities or anything going by courier, lid and base boxes in the UAE are often folded from printed paperboard instead. They arrive flat and cost far less, though they don't have the weight of a rigid box.

Finishes

Foil, embossing and spot UV go onto the paper while it's still flat, before wrapping. A ribbon pull or a foam insert can be added inside.

Turnaround and Delivery

Most orders take up to 10 days and are delivered free. Rigid boxes arrive built, not flat, so leave room in the stockroom.
